God’s Time : sitting in the Houston Airport – Fr Michael Nixon

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” 2 Peter 3:8

All 22 of us (including Oscar and Oscar Jr. In Tallahassee!) got on our flight without a hitch, ready to land in Peru tonight and hit the ground running. After an adventurous first leg, we landed in Houston and have seen the time for our flight to Lima get pushed back over and over (and over and over!). But while it would be easy to get frustrated and sullen, it’s great to look at things through God’s eyes.

I got to meet an awesome family—a married couples couple and his mother (also delayed!) as they are on their way to celebrate their saintly grandmother’s life with a funeral Mass in Seattle. Daniella was just mentioning how she had been hoping (randomly!) to run into a priest and her husband Philip shared his love for Bible in a Year by Fr. Mike Schmitz. God might have allowed all the inconvenience just for us to get to share a drink and pray together.

Thank you God for minor inconveniences and the chance to meet wonderful people along the way. (Pictured with my new friends Phillip, Daniella and Pamela)
